Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 369!

Special thanks to our sponsor, Visitation BVM Parish.
The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America, incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in 1916, is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.  Cub Scouts is a year-round family and home centered program that encourages ethical decision-making skills and development of skills that will enable the Cub Scout to move on to Boy Scouts.

Blue & Gold

Posted on Jan 27 2017 - 8:02am

This year’s Blue & Gold is a little over a week away (February 5, 2017).  Please sign up on our website as soon as possible http://www.cubpack369.com/node/6759 (you will need to sign in.) You can also e-mail me whether you are coming to the event or not  Please let me know Number of Adult & Number of Children under 12 who will be coming.  That will help us get a better headcount.  Hopefully all scouts can make this event, since it is our biggest event that celebrates all their hard work!  Each rank has a brief ceremony and scouts are awarded their rank badges.  Please bring all remaining basket items and Blue & Gold Banquet payment to your next Den Meeting on 2/1.

Here are the basic Schedule of events:

  1. Meet at 10:00 AM at the Lower Church (Scouts should be in their Uniform.).  Lions & Tiger Parents will process in with their Scouts, Older Scout Parents should sit near our reserved section upstairs.  From there the Pack will process upstairs to attend the 10:30 Mass.
  2. Around 11:30 AM, when Mass is over, please process out with us, we will go straight to the Visitation Football/All-purpose Field for a quick ceremony for our Arrow of Light Scouts.
  3. Around 12:00 PM we will be heading into the Gym for Lunch and our Banquet!  Food will consist of: Salad, Chicken Cutlet, Bowtie Pasta in a Rose Sauce, Garlic Knots & Rolls, and for dessert Cake.  The banquet should be over by 3:30 PM.  During the Banquet we will raffle off the baskets and draw a 50/50 winner between ceremonies.

Cost for the Banquet:

  • Cub Scouts & Children Under 12 will be $10.
  • Adults and Children 12 and over will be $20.

Blue & Gold Baskets:

  • As in years past, we will be raffling off baskets. This makes it fun for the Scouts and helps us to offset some of the cost of the banquet.  If you know of any businesses, organizations or if your family would like to donate a basket please let me know, we would be very appreciative!  As always we are asking each Den to donate items for some basket(s) to be raffled off at the banquet. Below you will find a list of the basket themes. We ask that each scout family donate an item or give money towards the Den basket; approximately $10 per scout. The donated items should be new and in its original packaging.  Have fun with it and be creative with your basket!

Webelos Only - Klondike Derby & Camping Trip With TROOP 369

Posted on Jan 12 2017 - 4:01pm

Attention all Webelos!

On January 20-22 come join Troop 369

The Klondike  Derby is an event where dozens of troops compete using scout skill to accumulate gold nuggets.  The troop with the most nuggets is the winner.  Stations vary from year to year but last years were as follows:

1. Beaver Trap - Assemble a pole with a beaver trap attached to catch a wooden beaver.

2. Atlatl - Using an ancient weapon to propel a spear for distance and accuracy.

3. First Aid - working through various first aid scenarios

4. Nature - identifying different plants and animals

5. Fire building - Construct a cooking fire and fires for warmth, build a fire that can reach the third rope

6. Shelter Building and knots - A new station

7. Tomahawks - we will need some practice here, i have the hawks but we have no target.

8. Pioneering - in previous years we have built tripods and catapults

9. Search and Rescue - A new station

10. Patrol Puzzles - Troop 369 is responsible to staff this station.

This is an appropriate trip for Webelos but they will not be able to tent camp.  They can stay in the cabin with most of the troop.

Contact Steve Campanella for more information! (scouts@dmcomputing.com)
